Hey all, not 4 days has passed and they have arrived in my hot little hands, Ebony HP3000's!

They are clear, fast, smooth, just great. Only had a couple of hours so I wont say much more at this stage. Again, Ill let the pictures do the talking

See how big they are compared to darth beyers! and various detail shots of the mods Larry has done, black band, lambskin everywhere, the way the hp1000 drive is angled in the cup etc.

For those who may be wondering (where have you been!) The HP3000 is the HP1000 driver (Grado HP1/2/3) in the Sony CD3000 Shell, with woody cups and a recable.

This one has been worked on by Larry, rebuilt headband, ebony woodys/highlights everywhere, black band, he even lambskinned the case!! Blackgold Balanced to 4-pin XLR with a Blackgold 1/4" Adaptor.

This thing sits on your head like a pillow, just incredible comfort. Anyway, hope you like the pics, back to enjoying this masterpiece

YOU person!!!!

I mean that in a good sense. I have been trying to get one of these for the longest time. When I had the money, none were available. And when this one popped up, I was more a grand short.

Cool man! If you don't mind me asking, how much did they eventually go for? They went so fast!

That's got to be just about the hottest thing I've ever seen. My ignorance is telling me I probably am not even aware of how much those things rock....

Larry moved the price around a little bit, but he listed them a bit above two grand, and then a bit below, if I recall, when I looked. They actually lasted a couple days.

Not if you enjoy them and get a great deal of pleasure from them...

That's what counts - performance! I'm glad those cans do right by ya!

BTW, I think that's the first shot of an Ebony can I've seen that shows the natural grain. Remember the bad old days of guitars when they would PAINT mahoghany black to pass it off as ebony? Bastards! Well that is the real deal. I'm seriously jealous, congrats!

Thank you so much for the high res shots. What driver position version did you get? V1 or V2?

I can't begin to tell you how jealous I am. I want those babies badly!

Oh well, all in due time.

I suppose patience is a virtue.
