Its still running opamps and is not discrete.. Not worth the price I know I will be spending my money elsewhere

Compare the specs and you will find "improvements"
USB is now 32bit the 1st one did not have that, 16 bit only
All other improvements are in my opinion very neath (on paper)
For a 30 % more costs the plus will be round $1100

Strange thing is, in europe (Holland) the dac is more expensive then from the U.S.A.  ($ to €) ?
Store in Holland here price of the Plus will be  € 1085  or  $1547

If you are from Holland .... advice buy the dac in the v.s. (hopefully they won`t count tax in Holland :D )

Think i will upgrade some components myself, first year i enjoy the dac as it is.
Then after guaranty is void, the opamps are the first ones to exchange ..... oke Ne5532 in this concept can sound great but i bet the Op270FZ or Opa2604 or other opamps can do a lot better then the ordinairy 5532

How ever the dac  .... -plus sounds great compare to other dacs in there price class

still opamps are opamps and discrete sound much better
What dac will have discrete outputs?

all of the Dac's in the 1100.00 range are discrete also
the signal to noise ratio is horrible on the tube output compared to other Dac's in this price range. I don't really care I l will use my minimax for my guitar room setup and look elsewhere for another DAC with more features like balanced outputs etc

S/N ratio : Tube 105dB
Solid Sate 120dB

Anyone who expects impressive specs with tube gear will probably be disappointed.
For what it's worth dCS,  Weiss and MSB use much maligned opamps in their $$$ DACs.
