Owners, can i confirm if the cable polarity is correct on your default cable? The red and blue dots are facing 'front' (as opposed to should be facing 'back' on normal 2 pin IEM.

EDIT: Just answered my own question, the polarity is indeed correct as i went back and checked the website and review photos. So i'd double check 1st before i plug my upgrade cable

Yes - what would you like to know (specifically)?

I did. Adds some extra warmth. Warmth that I do not really thing the ES3 is lacking. I liked the ES3 more with the iBasso DX80.

I am curious about how fiio x5 iii affects width and depth of soundstage. Also, I've heard that x5's treble is little recessed. I am not sure if it is the real case or personal thought. If this is the case I am not willing to sacriface good treble performance of es3.

Thanks for the info. Which tips are you using with earsonics? I am using grey silicone ones and little warmth would be good with them. This is my fifth earsonics iem and I have been using those tips from the begining.

ES3 is quite good with DX200 as well.

Thanks, I will also check DX200.

Personal opinion - DAPs don't generally affect sound-stage unless there is DSP or cross-feed or a non-linear frequency response. The good news is that FiiO publishes its graphs - and they are pretty accurate - http://www.fiio.net/en/products/65/parameters

Essentially quite flat from 10 Hz to 20 kHz, with maybe 0.2-0.3 dB slow roll-off at both ends (essentially inaudible to us mere humans).  Overall - very smooth sounding DAP (subjectively), but all the detail is there.  You can add impression of soundstage by playing around with the inbuilt viper effects.  And there is no audible treble roll-off.
