How in the world do you use these wax loops?

I have some Klipsch Custom 1s that came with a wax loop and I have no idea how to go about using it. Is it made to clean out the wax from inside of your ear or to clean the wax from the actual earphone?

(btw, I experimented by sticking the wax loop in my ear and it did get a good bit of wax

)

lol, it's for cleaning the "tube"(thing where you put your tips on) if there's wax inside
