I was not crazy about the left placement at first, but it sort of balances with the selector knob on the right. Jury is still out on this.

I think that the amp might look best without the plate at all (at least in the two positions shown. No offense to it's heritage or the the designer but that thing is just gorgeous, it's so clean and the reflections are very nice. So, if there's a spot for it on the back panel I'd put it there otherwise it might be time for a custom little panel

Your amp is gorgeous. This is DIY at its very, very best. I bet it sounds good too! I wonder how it synergises with the GS-1000

I'm thinking of cutting a radiation icon in the top plate with waterjet, then adding a blue neon tube. Maybe flames for the sides!
