Also, I figured I'd ask this here this it is at least somewhat related to my previous post.
Is the UE attentuator nothing but a beefy resistor? I was told that it adds ~210 ohms impedance, but is that all it does? I definitely hear considerable SQ degradation when using it with the ES2 out of a portable, but I don't hear as much degradation out of a an amp - more of a difference in sound signature (softer bass/treble, less extension but a bit more clarity).
