With the Hornet on Low Gain with your E500's or other quality IEM's where is your volume knob on most songs using the clock method.

also make a note if you listen to anything other than low gain with IEM's

Take the poll

I was assuming LINE OUT but if not let's say 75% on the IPOD volume.

With all of the IEMs I've used I rarely go past the first hash mark on the volume dial using low gain with the iPod's line out. Anything above the second hash mark is ridiculously loud.

Ray himseld says he listens around 10:00. I have to believe my gain is lower than most then. I can get the E500's up to 3:00 on a low recording

With my Hornet M on low gain and my E500's, I am always below 9:00.

Doesn't this depend on the output of the source as well? I personally use a LOD. I'll vote when my Hornet "M" arrives.
