E500 and SE530 not exactly the same?

This has been discussed to death and it's simply the same. End of story.

Well, not anymore. In fact, the link that was cited with that comment didn't even support the "fact" that was stated. No matter, misinformation corrected.

shure e500 and se530 are identical. this is fact, they are manufactured to the exact same specifications and use the same materials ( all but the re-formulated cables ).

the e3c does not have the bass port and the e4c does, this is what differenciates the two, the e500 is an improved e4c with dual low drivers and bass port.

the e500 and se530 are exactly the same, we all would like to think the se530 are superior but they are not, they did not modify the e500 along with the se lineup because the e500 was still the top of the line model and they carried it over for this reason rather than trying to improve on it.

if the se530 was an improvement on the e500 it would likely carry the e600 or se630/40 name.

Yeah, i think it's what Arjisme said.

If the Se530 did have the bass port, i think they would have put it on their website like they do with the Se310

Shure - SE530 Sound Isolating Earphones

Shure - SE310 Sound Isolating Earphones

As you can see, only the Se310 has the bassport feature mentioned whereas the Se530 don't

Plus, as Arjisme said, Sugarfried from shure has confirmed it himself.

heres a diagram of how the e500/se530 is layed out, u can clearly see it has a port, honestly, a little exploration clears so much up.

so i'm assuming you edited the wiki page to contain the correct information yes?? see this is exactly why wiki is not accepted as a credible reference source at college or anywhere. anyone can go there and change the 'facts' to whatever they like.

LOL @ voltage's wishful thinking

Yes I did... and I cited my sources. It is both the genius and the problem with Wikipedia. Anyone can edit it and enter whatever they like, so you have to take that in to consideration when using it. But, there is a lot of very good, accurate information out there because it draws on the knowledge of well informed people around the world.

agreed, but by its very nature; can only really be used as a jumping off point for any academic exercise

Wikipedia is an excellent source as it allows information to be quickly updated, added and/or corrected by anyone interested. Of course it is possible for people to put false info and that is irrelevant! People tend to find the unsupported facts/false allegations and clean it up by either finding references, removing the information or adding '[citation needed].' If everyone were to maintain a lie on an article, it is very likely the lie would also be present in so called 'credible sources.'

All good researchers dig through multiple sources and never blindly trust information. A good wikipedia article is fully cited with multiple external references. All one has to do is view the references and research additional sources where applicable... and make sure his/her brain is in critical thinking mode.

It comes down to this: Everyone must decide for themselves what is true or not based on their own experience and research... otherwise they are nothing but sheep and follow whatever 'sounds good.' Would you trust a doctor solely on the basis that they have a certificate!? How about the 'professional' news? How about politicians or teachers? How about the president? We are in a world full of lies. The lies are EVERYWHERE!

Fortunately, there is a handful of truth-seekers around who are intelligent and objectively research their own answers. As long as the internet (wikipedia included) is free, unrestricted and uncensored, the truth will be available for all who seek it.
