I use the E5 with the Audèo PFEs (Black filters, Comply Foam tips). Source is a Sony WMZ-A729. I love it.

I use mine with my IE8's. Bass boost off. I use it only because my crappy EU ipod is volume limited and that combined with soundcheck being on reduces the volume of the ipod being too low, even on max.

Mine just came in the mail today along with my Head-Direct RE2. At first I was skeptical of both, but song after song it started to sound better and better. Might just be my head playing games with me, but if I'm happy that's good enough to justify the price.

I used it with my DT 770 Pro on PC and my RE2 on the Zune. They both sound noticeable better on the Zune. Thinking about getting a DAC for my PC, but still looking around.

Been using Bass Boost for all hip-hop and songs with drums beats. And Flat for everything else. This E5 makes my Incubus songs sound so much better with my DT 770 and my RE2.

Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling Headphones (Japan Edition, with the Japan-only 0.5m cord) with the NC on (only 40 ohms as opposed to NC off at 100 ohms) and the E5 and my NW-HD5 with RM-MC40ELK remote. Even though it relegates the jack to a phones out as opposed to line out, it does fine for me when shutting out the world and getting zeroed in while my HD5 is in my pocket or clipped onto my belt. It really brings out the bass quite a bit when using both the bass boost on the E5 and on the HD5 (I use custom EQ setting #3, having both bass and treble fully boosted).

I use mine with Goldring NS1000s when I have active noise cancellation off. My Sony DSR-D511 is horrible with the NS1000s in passive mode but the FiiO does the job nicely - marginally better than my Juice 2214 CMOY.

Strangely with most of my other headphones (and the NS1000s in active mode) my other amps sound better.

I use my FiiO E5 with RE2 and PK3 for portable use. When I don't mind carrying a bigger amp, I do not use an E5 but instead the bigger amp. I also use it hooked up to my computer and Koss KSC75. Bass Boost off all the time.
