I've been using my X3 with my laptop as a DAC and I find the ability to tweak the treble and bass invaluable to finding my preferred sound with my various headphones. I was thinking of purchasing an E18 to partner my HTC One with Spotify but the neither the phone nor Spotify have the ability to adjust the sound so I was concerned that the E18 doesn't seem to have any adjustment apart from a bass boost on/off.

Am I likely to find this limiting for my needs or is the sound already likely to be nicely balanced?

Edit: autocorrect made the title E13 instead of E18...

Is your phone rooted by any chance? You could install various systemwide sound effect programs to a rooted phone, here's just one example
