E10, new USB DAC ( updated with photos of real E10 )

High impedance isn't the same as easy to drive... e.g - the 50 Ohm AKG242 requires a higher volume than the 300 ohm HD650 on many amps, and the HD650 is better straight out of an iPod. But it seems it is able from the review in headfonia. Maybe not to drive the Hifiman HE6, but still....

Just finish listen E10 for almost an hour. Very clean and spacious sound. The amp section is very similar to E11 (obviously as both use the same opamp), but E10 sounds just a tiny bit more crisp. Plenty of power around and should driver anything under 150ohm with ease. I don't have any headphone above 150ohm so I can't say for sure, but I would imagine most headphone under 300ohm with decent sensitivity shouldn't be any problem for E10. For example, RE0 is quite loud with 1.5 / 8 on the volume pot on high gain. The only issue I found on E10 so far is on the gain marking, the High / Low markings are on the wrong sides. Other than that, everything works wonderfully. I'll do a review on it compared to uDAC later on.

Wait, Kiteki, you've auditioned it?

I think that was sarcasm based on the fact that 'will this be able to drive any headphone' is a pretty broad statement since there are always oddities like orthos, K-1000s and electrostats to confuse things.

EDIT: Also James, which distributors are likely to have this first? If it's going to be PJBOX again (for the UK at least) I'll have to keep an eye on their site.
