Is this going to be equally as powerful as the e7?

Not, it is a new mini desktop USB DAC, personally I love the design , LOL.

The different is

E7 only support 48k/16bit, E10 support 96k/24ibt

E7 have build in battery, E10 is powered by USB

E7 use digital volume control, without gain switcher, E10 use potentionmeter and with gain switcher,

E7 use TPA6130 as amp, E10 use AD8397

The only similar is both use WM8740 ad D/A

So its even better than the E7?  Thats a steal at  $80, I'll recommend this to my non-audiophile friend then

i'm sure you are working hard on the X3 but any update on E10 would be great...

..Just a quick (albeit noob) question. I'm planning to build a desktop rig (most likely an M^3) to accompany my modded Grados come end of this year, and am looking for a decent (read: not high-end) DAC to accompany it. Would this fit the bill? The chain would look something like: laptop running JRiverMedia -> E10 -> M^3 -> Grado. Also, is there a difference between line-out and headphone-out? (In the iPod, the lineout bypasses the internal amp, would this happen to be the case as well?)
Thanks :)

Is the photo of what the final product is going to look like or of the engineering sample?

Yes, it will be the final product.

E10 will be a good solution for people who wants a 96k/24bit USB DAC in affordable price ,  but it is not so suitable for us to comment any products of the third party. also it depend on your budget and your taste for the music.

The line out will bypass the build in Amp section. and of course there are difference between line out and headphone out.

Any updates on those pics?

Can't wait for this, hopefully it's going to be a good alternative to the uDAC.

IMO, there should be an update after the FiiO X3 (FiiO's upcoming DAP, looks very promising) thread is updated, the X3 is a lot more anticipated and the lack of updates has caused serious derailing in the last few pages. Its still DAP related but its gone to an apple player discussion.
