The benefit is to get another sound signature while still enjoying the analogues of the discrete DAC family. Additionally, taking 340 alone on the go and can still enjoy similarly

In a sense, they are similar, and also on another hand, they are not 😀
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, since the 340 is based on the D16 dac, I wasn't sure if putting the D16 in the mix would just be redundant. I'll have to try to get my hands on a D16 to try it myself.

I'm personally more excited for AMP17/18. I want to get even more juice and clarity out of its most portable configuration as possible. Probably going to buy all three though since this thing is so awesome!
If given only 1 choice, then Amp17 will be the most I look toward to. It has newest GAN tech that no portable has atm.

However, the amp modules are so affordable! And it significantly alter sonic performances, why not all 😍

Yes, as a detail lover AMP17 is at the top of my list among the three.

Any rumors if iBasso will make a compact version of the DX340 similar to AK SP3000M? :)

1lb in the pocket is what's preventing me from pulling the trigger haha

Impossible since the amp modules are not gonna be scaled down to size but the DX260 already exists and all the previous models of smaller DAPs. Don't expect it to have the sound and versaility of the DX340 though!

Was afraid of that, guess I'll just have to wait for next gen or take the risk when I see it on classified. Have the DX180 which is great and am cool with waiting awhile before I upgrade

Hi All
Recent and proud owner of DX340 from India. Love this DAP for its capabilities and sound
I have noticed one issue on mine though, I emailed Paul about as well.

Using Mango player or Apple Music when I am playing music files which have different bit rate like one file being 44KHZ and next file in the play order is 48KHZ, when the current songs ends and the other one begins since the DAP changes the bit rate, on Apple Music the file stops playing for 1-2 seconds while the bit is changing and starts playing the lower or higher quality but rate file
The same is noticed on Mango player when the bit rate changes due to next song mango player stops by itself and I have to press play again it does not start playing music automatically

As per Paul's advise I wiped the device after being in the latest firmware update 3 times from the recovery menu and the issue still exist. I am going to try to stop the gapless playback on Mango and stop crossfade option in Apple Music to see if this solves it. He finally told me that they haven't been able to reproduce this error at their end and this means I need resolve this then I need to ship my DAP back to them which is going be lengthy and expensive process.

Does anyone else also have this issue or have noted this stop when the bit rate changes during playback?

Hey, that sounds frustrating! Have you tried disabling gapless playback on Mango Player or the crossfade feature in Apple Music as a workaround? If that doesn’t help, you could also check for any power-saving settings or background apps that might be causing the delay during bit rate changes. Hopefully, it gets resolved soon!

I am going to try switching off Gapless playback in Mango Player and crossfade option in Apple Music. Also I will switch off Wavelet App as well to check if that is causing this issue. Will report back.

That sounds like a solid plan! Hopefully, switching those settings off does the trick. Fingers crossed that the Wavelet app isn’t the culprit! Keep me posted on how it goes – I’m rooting for you to get that smooth playback back haha.
