Wow, thanks for this extensive compare. Before you part of D16, would you be kind enough to compare 340 and D16 against each other using PB5 as amp? Many thanks again.
It will take me sometimes, but yes, it will be a part of the fun journey to take

It's damn fun really to explore the limits of Ibasso gears can bring.
My honeymoon period is over with 340.
I just tried 340+PB5 stunned me quite a bit.
Tomorrow night shall try D16+PB5 Vs 340+PB5 combos.

It makes senses, from my perspectives, an improved Crosstalk that is as much as -145dB is very very formidable. It is as much as SP3000 in specs and for AK which always holding on to the title of being the highest level of crosstalk performances for a portable player and essentially which grand the A&K as a brand to the position that they are at the moment.

With True LO, you get what you just witnessed 😆

What is your IC ? It matters a lot too

The PB5 with D16 can make the punchiness be reaching your heart and chests. I dont want to test yet...but now you give me an urgen itch LOL!!!

It was the cross talk figure that caught my attention,
I’m a happy SP3000 owner and I’m waiting patiently for the D17,

I’m a SP3000 owner also. My only thought for picking up the DX340 was because there’s no lag evidently for watching movies and music videos as there is definitely a lag with the SP 3000 which was a bummer I learned after I purchased it.

Where is the dx340 -145db crosstalk? In the line out, not in headphone out, and the S/N ratio is 7db lower, so has much has the fanboys want to , the sp3000 in nrs remains better, but what i would like to know was an not sponsured comparison about the diferences in sound tuning,a true honest one...

Could it be your computer by any chance? I have the SP3000M and DX340 and I don’t notice any lag when using either device as a USB C DAC and watching movies.

I’m fortunate that I prefer watching the glow of a valve rather than watching a music video. 😊

I should’ve been more clear, I meant connecting via Bluetooth to a TV. It has lag, unlike most of my other dac/amps that I connect in that manner. Not a big deal it really wasn’t meant for that purpose.

Had a go with the DX340 demo at Jaben Singapore recently. Truly impressive.

Hardware is solidly built, very sturdy and robust. Design is perhaps the best from ibasso to-date (though the DX320X still tops it for me).
The display is something that we are familiar in smartphones but this quality is something we have yet to experience in daps, much less flagship level daps.
Software is the most refined as well. Android 13 and Mango OS are perhaps the best implementation ever by ibasso.

Sonically, there's plenty of resemblance to the D16 Taipan. The DX340 perhaps has sonic qualities that are more for current music preferences. Perhaps.
The 5 filters, H1 to H5, each one of them, tilts the DX340 sound ever so slightly but audibly perceivable, with a very transparent iem. Was using the 64 Audio Volur.
The filter that gravitated most at the moment, H2 (Natural). And yet, despite all 5 filters, they do not recreate D16 Taipan's signature.

If you're an owner of the DX320 Max Ti, D16 Taipan/PB5 Osprey, the DX340 does not displace their place in terms of performance.

With so many upcoming 18th Anniversary projects coming, their Desktop Dac AMP, GAN Headphone Amplifier and the D17 Atheris (R2R), we may have a hard time picking favorites or collecting them all. lol.

There's never been a better time to be an ibasso fan. :L3000:

That !!! My friend !!!

My main points to be exciting about DX340 are as follow

1/ it has 1 bit DAC discrete the way I love drom D16 !!!

Never expected it to be on par and yet different to D16 in sound signature

2/ it can utilize pure external LPSU for amplification purposes, desktop Mode !! Now my set is READY for them all!!!

Never expected to see Dual Triodes and GAN FET incoming modules which can also be under desktop mode

3/ Also, didn't expect Ibasso would improve FPGA 2.0 intp 3.0 this early
