Thank you "rocket man" :rocket:
BTW, I also removed the limitation for DX340 and ran them on my DX180, for the love of the same HW (processor), all good
Good to hear. Really like this creativity for personal use. (I trust you will respect the license statement and do not distribute this.)

Regarding the processors, with 99% certainty they are not the same. The DX340 uses this integrated SoC: https://semiconductor.samsung.com/mcp/model/lpddr5-umcp/km8f9001jm-b813/ Not sure if this is exactly the same as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. The default installation (without options) should work on the DX180. However, the other options change the minimum scaling frequency. 🚸 This could cause overheating and/or instability.

No distribution intention (for my personal usage only), just to make use of this great tweaking on the little bro (DX180) as well :D
I actually sold my JM21 and got the DX180 as a more compact and portable solution - wanted to get more power + battery replacements and since HW is pretty much on par (not the DAC/AMP part) then I could also get the benefits of the tweaking.

Will report back if I notice anything misbehaving (if you want).
I've went for the balanced tunning on DX180 (since portable) and all-in MAXED out the DX340 since it's more of a "desktop"-ish establishment.
Also applied the whitelisting + debloating on both.

Appreciated, thanks. If only iBasso would send me some other devices to abuse ;)

"Not looking forward" to the DX340MAX TI someday...
Not sure I'll like the price :))

However...I am an iBasso believer! DC07 Pro, DC Elite, DX180, DX340 (AMP14,15...looking forward to the AMP16 being made available), PB5...also have been eyeing that RED Nunchaku (because of the RED I believe)
Really really great product, every single one of them. Great build quality and also, most importantly, great sound!

iBasso will have to reinvent their naming system: (Performance) MAX is already associated with the DX340 :o2smile:

iBasso DX340 Debloating & Tweaking Playbook

Almost weekend, time for a new update: v5.2 is live! This version introduces a new “Power SAVE 🌱” option for the battery conscious among us. Please check the release notes for all changes and additional options.

Background info: nobody will have noticed, but the previous version allowed > 16 different tweaking configurations. Since that was impossible to manage, it has now been reduced to 3:

1. For most users, the default Advanced Tweaking installation (without any option) will be sufficient. It offers a good balance between performance/sonic improvements and battery life. Included are runtime kernel optimizations, filesystem improvements, advanced scheduler tuning, and reduction of background logging and tracing (who ever checked the logs 🔨).

2. The new "Power SAVE 🌱" option (psave=1) slightly reduces battery consumption by - in addition to the above - lowering the minimum scaling frequency from 1056.0 MHz to 902.4 MHz and applying less aggressive scheduler tuning.

3. Finally, for those who absolutely want to get maximum performance out of their DX340, the "Performance MAX ✨" option (pmax=1) was introduced in v5.0. In addition to disabling "Doze & App Standby" (deviceidle), the minimum scaling frequency is increased from 1056.0 MHz to 1401.6 MHz. The even more aggressive "Scheduler tuning by Whitigir" is now also included.

As always, enjoy the improvements!

By the way, I personally think that the scripts are quite mature now. After this version, updates will come less frequent, also due to time constraints.
Regarding this part....."Performance MAX ✨" option (pmax=1)" does this mean it's a selectable option? If so where do I find it? Sorry I'm a bit new to this!

It's already pre applied if you did the advanced tweaking command.

I recently acquired the D16 and the C9ii and having just completed a first listen with the 340, I'm blown away. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it seems that the D16 opens up the music more, giving more space to each instrument, and the C9ii adds a punch, especially to the mid-bass, at least to my ears. Really looking forward to the next listening sessions :)

We don't have an ULTRA in the naming scheme YET...YET!
So there's still space, we do have an ULTRA mode last I recalled on the DX320MAX TI.

BTW, been playing the DX180 for the past 1 hour and so far so good. Even though it's 1/2 size, it's definitely not 1/2 the sound.
All these tweaking and collecting iBasso gear has made me look more into the DX320MAX TI...but it makes absolutely no sense to get it since I have the DX340 which should be more advanced on the DAC side, however...each unit screams quality!

The 180 is an amazing DAP for the size and price, considering the sound quality you get out of it.

Ditto! I feel like all the things I've gotten so far from iBasso do/try to strike that balance.
Perhaps, maybe some more than others, but no regrets so far :L3000:

"One controller to rule them all" Android DAPs. Wherever the DX340 is, this little thing controls it 😊

@EnigmaFotos Is the amp16 a true line out or is it like amp15 where it's preamp?
