Trying the LO to my Ragnarok. No significant write up for that yet because I’ll need way more time.
One thing I don’t understand is that the amp gain changes the output levels on line out, while DAC gain does not. I would have expected it to be the opposite because the line out mode should bypass the amp circuit, right? So why is the amp gain affecting the line out? And why isn’t the DAC gain?

Interesting, so if I understand your post correctly you’re theorizing that the amp gain toggle in software becomes a preamp instead of affecting the main amp circuit, which should be fully bypassed?

I tried my HD800s with DX340 last night on High/5, the volume needed to go to about 70 (versus 38ish on IE900), it worked, as in there was adequate volume, however I’m not sure it was driving them well though. I need to try it plugged in with 800s to understand the (expected) improvement.

With a 300 Ohm input impedance, the HD800s are not an easy pair to drive from a portable (or any) amp. Curious to learn what is possible with the DX340, though.
