I tried Susvara on the DX340 for fun. Not really a surprise but it doesn't do a good job with it lol.

I'll email Bloom about the DAC gain issue since toggling it between low high doesn't change the volume.
Have you tried in DC mode? Not expecting miracles but just curious

I actually want a silicone case for more protection. I hope Ibasso will make that available soon. I am not clumsy but crap has happened in the past.

IBasso doesn't make the TPU cases, a different company does, not sure when the DX340 cases will pop up on Aliexpress or Amazon though.

Trying the LO to my Ragnarok. No significant write up for that yet because I’ll need way more time.

One thing I don’t understand is that the amp gain changes the output levels on line out, while DAC gain does not. I would have expected it to be the opposite because the line out mode should bypass the amp circuit, right? So why is the amp gain affecting the line out? And why isn’t the DAC gain?

This is what I think about it

Interesting, so if I understand your post correctly you’re theorizing that the amp gain toggle in software becomes a preamp instead of affecting the main amp circuit, which should be fully bypassed?
Yes, that is what I think. But only @Paul - iBasso can clarify such

I tried my HD800s with DX340 last night on High/5, the volume needed to go to about 70 (versus 38ish on IE900), it worked, as in there was adequate volume, however I’m not sure it was driving them well though. I need to try it plugged in with 800s to understand the (expected) improvement.

With a 300 Ohm input impedance, the HD800s are not an easy pair to drive from a portable (or any) amp. Curious to learn what is possible with the DX340, though.
