D320MAX GAiN knob off-kilter.png
My gain knob on my #394 is way off kilter! The four positions 1-4 click and operate fine, but the line indicator does NOT line up with the 4 numbers "1,2,3,4" on the faceplate. The knob is not loose at all. The photo on the left is Gain control at the Gain 1 position. The photo on the right is Gain control at the Gain 4 position.

I hate to have to ship it all the way back to iBasso China for service. I wonder if I open it with a #10Torx, I could somehow correct the adjustment to line up correctly?

YIKES!

Yikes indeed, specially for something in that price range. Hope they get that fixed easily.

Happened to me too. Something wrong with the gain switch. It’s working fine but won’t line up and changes position.

Easy to fix. I looked at mine when I got it. The knob is brass with an insert and it is held to the inside face of the knob by double sided tape. If that slips or didn't make good contact initially with the knob insert, then it will move like yours. All you have to do is pull off the know, align the insert and then make sure it is pushed up well against the double sided tape that holds it to the inside face of the brass knob. No big deal. It is a D shaft, so it is just the insert in the knob that turned some.

Easy to fix.

I got to the point where that happened to me too, not with normal usage, but because I grabbed and pushed it a bit too far.

Just push it a bit more on the opposite direction, and it somewhat falls into the right position, and then works as intended.

I don't think it is a terrible flaw, I pushed it quite hard to get that done, the volume wheel does not exhibit the same issue. You can make it fall right back into place, mine can go a bit more than it should if I give it too much force. I did use quite a bit of force because I thought it was the volume wheel, was not looking at it while working, and this happened as I was trying to push the volume a bit louder.

just curious, why didn’t you jump on the 1000 stealth instead of OG?

It is the improved headphone, notably through its res and less grainy treble. Sublime with 320MAX too
Which do you prefer the stealth or SE with the max?
