Thanks! I downloaded and reinstalled and it took care of the volume wheel issue. I did am OTA update previously. The option for PO/LO (output) is still gone but I think that setting may have only applied to the 4.4mm jack so that may be why. The jack on the right seems louder but if I pause and unplug the 3.5mm jack and plug it back into either port there is a buzzing background noise that slowly goes away completely after about 30 seconds. Its loudest when you plug the jack in and slowly fades.

Can anyone confirm if the output setting (LO/PO) setting is there who has the AMP13 card? I'm probability going to do a factory reset in the morning but would like to see if the output setting disappears when using the AMPP13 card in Android That and the buzzing/background noise when unplugging and plugging back in doesn't seem normal.

It gets loud on the right/middle jack but the output isn't very loud on the jack that is nearest to the corner. Neither jack is near as loud as the 4.4mm jack on the AMP11 when the output setting is set to PO.

PO/LO is gone on the DX320 (i dont know if the same is for DX300).

Somehow the segice seems to detect its the tube amp which does not have a line out.

The outputs are as the picture above - of two different strengths/power.

(4.4mm on stock amp is more powerful).

Did updating manually fix the volume issue for you? Was that the backwards one?

@Vitaly2017 Turns out my amp card is 11 mki so we were not comparing apples to apples.

Also, what did I tell you about burn-in!!! Don’t make me scold you now tsk tsk tsk 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

For potential new buyers, the iBasso 300 series platform is incredible and definitely a great buy, but again, it’s more of a transitive between 300 & 320 rather than evolutionary. Always tread with caution when reading threads and do your research - even better - try and A/B if possible & blind A/B is even better.

After over 10 years on Head-Fi I’ve seen countless FOTM & hype trains and it’s always entertaining to see the banter - we’re all consumers, and spending our hard earned money, so we like to create confirmation bias. 90% of the time the greatest thing ever goes onto be forgotten and outdated within 2 years, unless it’s a classic in the making (Susvara, Utopia, Z1R, Andromeda, BHA-1, etc)

Jury is still out on DX300 vs DX320 for me personally, but so far I prefer the musical accuracy of what I heard with the one amp configuration so far. Looking forward to the 13 when Vitaly gets it.

I’ve seen it all, new product revisions not concretely being revolutionary but just different. Here are common examples where people challenge new revisions/ replacements being better:

HD580 > HD600 > HD650
Utopia 2020 > Utopia pre 2020
Focal Clear > Clear MG (disagree)
HD800 > HD800S
LCD4 > LCD5 (disagree but love both for different approaches)
MEST OG > MEST MK2
Arya V2 > Arya V3 (strongly disagree)
HE1000se > HE1000v2 (disagree)
HE6 OG > HE6sev1/v2
STAX SR009S > SR009 (debatable)
SR007mki> SR007mkii
Solaris > Solaris 2020

At the end of the day, metrics of objectivity are crucial, but personal preferences come into play as the final judgment.
Yeah you ve seen it all:)
There are no revolutions in this hobby, only upgrades or downgrades. The dx320 is a similar upgrade to the dx300 as the Shanling
m9 to the m8- it's just better in every regard, better dynamics, better microdetail, way better timbre, better staging. The fact that someone still prefers the older model doesn't mean anything. Is it a revolution? No but i have never seen a revolution in an audio world, only evolutions.

After several hours of listening with the default amp, I can say the following (in my opinion, of course):

- mango os sounds better, just as in the case of dx220. I think there is less jitter compared to Android. The sound is cleaner, more precise, more open

- on Android side, I am torn between Mango and Neutron Player with audiophile 64bit 16x upsampling. Mango sounds sharper, cleaner, Neutron is denser and smoother, particularly in the low frequencies. I tend to prefer Neutron for vocals, piano and smooth jazz, Mango for pop and rock.

- too bad there isn't an audiophile upsampling in Mango OS

Amp13 is finally here and the sound is just FANTASTIC!
Its way more open, the soundstage got definitely bigger and more expanded. No harshness, beautiful, just beautiful. Big, warm bass too.
The only problem is the volume knob that works backwards:)
I have the newest firmware but updated OTA. Does it matter? Also2 times factory reset before the update and after.
Any ideas?

I think i read that reinstalling the (most recent) firmware internally (not OTA) fixed the (reverse) amp13 volume problem for someone. But i am not sure.

Have a try and report back

cayin just has added reverse direction option of volume knob in their latest fw for n8ii on request, maybe ibasso is thinking to add such function too

I really like Mango OS, but I don't use it because, for some reason it doesn't find about 3k songs. Mango Android, UAPP, and Neutron all find them. Only Mango OS that doesn't, no matter how many times I scan. Interesting. Maybe there is an upper limit on how many songs the library can hold? I have 25079 songs.

Will need to check through settings and make sure it isn't something that I missed.

I got used to play albums as folders. Sure, it would be nice to have playlists, favourites etc.
Normally I like to simply set to random and play all. Then when I run across a song or group that strikes me at that moment, I will go into that folder to play just that artist or type of song. Another reason I like to use Neutron in most cases because it is more difficult to do this in any flavor of Mango. Que is one of the best features (for me) in Neutron. This allows me to add songs on the fly, and simply hit playback. It isn't permanent like a playlist is, so I can get rid of it quickly, or clear it for the next batch of music I want to focus on, and etc...

Bottom line (for me) is that the Mango app (either/both) are very mature in the sound department but need some QOL features added to make them a bit more useable for me. Neutron (and to a lesser extent UAPP) seems to also be a very mature in its sound, but also has some really good QOL features. Either way, I am happy with all the choices I have (especially compared to the old Fiio DAPs where there was not much choice in the way you do it at all, though the sound was good).

Finally! Did you notice the hall-like sound?
Weird bug by the way, glad that isn't present on the DX300 as well lol.
