A couple of the parts that we do not manufacture are no longer available. This will be the DX260 MKII. Same excellent sound, same case. The SoC had to be changed and it will be Android 13.

Thanks for the explanation. Can you please confirm that the original DX260 will continue to be supported and get firmware updates?

I’m in the same boat. Literally receiving mine this week. It would help to know more information to decide whether to return and wait for this newer one or not.

I wont be buying IBasso Again. Its a one year old DAP and already its been discontinued and wont be updated to Android 13.
Not great behaviour.
May go back to Fiio.
We can not obtain a couple of parts. So we are calling it the MKII but the sound will be the same as will the performance. Some things are out of a manufacturers control and chips are one of them. Where ever you go, Enjoy the Music!

Problem is you wont be upgrading Android even though the CPU and hardware supports it.

Yeah, they don't care about it. Software support from iBasso is really bad. I had DX 260 and then FiiO M23. Both has same SoC and RAM but OS on M23 runs much faster and is more stable... Of course DX260 is a nice DAP but when I see how iBasso don't care about software updates, then I'm not going to buy any new DAP from them.

Bad? They update firmware frequently and I could care less about Android 13. Regarding speed, my DX260 is very fast and no issues with hardware or software. I use it frequently and enjoy the sound as well. That is what counts.

I always preferred ibasso house sound over other manufacturers. If ibasso can improve their software and hardware they will be untouchable in the portable audio word. Imagine a dap with ibasso sound and fiio hardware and feautures it will be a killer dap😎

My DX260 2.0.4 doesn't seem to charge after the use of DAC mode. The cable is connected, the charge icon is up, but it actually doesn't charge until reboot.
