Have you compared the i300 to the i400? I have both now but haven't had the time to compare. At first, not a direct comparison, i400 seemed a little brighter.Sounds good. Remember those New Elna Silmic II Caps require a minimum of 150 -200Hrs burn in and it only gets better after that via a much fuller sound with all the treble details without the harshness or aggressiveness to the sound. Now throw in a Micron i400 Card like this https://www.newark.com/micron/mtsd512anc8ms-1wt/microsd-card-uhs-1-u3-class-10/dp/48AK5390 and should be end game DAP levels of sound.
You have to let your brain adjust...use it for 1 week to get what it's really doing. To my ears, i400 is faster as in I hear various bass details I couldn't pickup with older card, i400 sounds smoother yet giving more details and a bigger dynamic 3D space vs i300 model. This is via AMP8MK2. MK2s is more precise vs OG MK2 so both have their use cases.Have you compared the i300 to the i400? I have both now but haven't had the time to compare. Mouser is also way more expensiveInteresting that Newark has the cards, the new ones, and Mouser has just the 64gb and Digikey doesn't have any yet, unless that changed in the last few days.
don't forget to share your experience when you get it. Was it worth to get. I especially interested in low end reproduction quality. Not quantity wise but more quality. As i feel all amps with 240 tuned and gives different low end. Amp 1 mk 3 (have heard, good bass, rumbly, more quantity than neutrall, control quite good but not top ), amp 8 first gen (had and heard, boosted bass, quite good controlled ), am8 mk2 (heard briefly, some say bass is a little bloaty with that), amp8 mk2s (possibly will get if it is worth), amp8 ex (have, using it, neutral, more controlled bass). From what i heard ex version i like the most at the moment as it is more to neutral side also controlled quite good and punchy. So wonder how mk2s is compared to all previous amps.amp8mk2se shipped out! you guys indirectly suckered me into it.![]()

AMP8MKII is the same way but for you, having never owned it makes sense why you see AMP8MKII Special Edition this way.MK2S is different, somehow it is tube like in its 3D presentation and wonderful tuneful bass and guitar sound wonderful on it. It is an exciting amp but isn't tiring to listen to. Just lively.
With which amps? With the stock amps, DX240 is edgy and IMO harsh. I did not enjoy it. With its stock amp, the DX320 is smooth without sacrificing detail. The other available amps will change the sound from there. For owners having experience with dx320 vs dx240, can you please share general differences?
From what I gather the 240 may be more neutral overall, but of course I could be wrong.
I am really enjoying the smaller form factor on the 240 for travel purposes.
advice appreciated!
I plan to use stock cable for a while so for the dx240, is there alternative amps for 3.5mm? Unpopular question I am sure, haha. With which amps? With the stock amps, DX240 is edgy and IMO harsh. For form factor and ergonomics, no contest, DX240 all day long.

I use and really like it with edition xs, and it is pretty amazing combination. My amp is ex version but still it is 8 bassed. So i have pretty linear with good control low end and very good extended treble. But as xs is more bright in trebble this combination doesnt mask it, it gives truth character of headphones. So getting good soundstage, imaging, clear , overal very balanced , refference sound but not warm or tubby. I think mk2 or 2s amps should give more warmth. Overal i think 240 with 8 amps are one of few daps that could give such planars as xs enoughf current for them to become alive and fully sounding. This shows how good these discrete ibasso amps are made.I would like to ask you, what are your favorite headphones with DX240?
I am currently using Grado RS2 and LETSHUOESR S12. Before I used the Ibasso iT03, but now I find them very congested, without air.
