I use the Amp8 but the best should be the Amp8 MK2 especially tuned for the DX 240, I plan to get one, it will be more gentle and slightly less powerful with a softer slam, more musical, but if you like strong dynamic the Amp8 will suit you better.

I have both Shanling M8 and DX 240 with an Amp8 :

- Soundstage and realism : DX 240 is best
- Depth : The M8 is best
- Clarity : DX 240 is the one
- Slam : DX 240 also
- Details : DX 240 again
- Textured : The M8 is slightly better
- Detailed decay : M8 a liittle better

Roughfly in terms of technicalities the DX 240 is above, but not in terms of musicality, if you want the best of the two worlds, the M9 should be the one, but its is much more pricey but still less pricey than the SP 2000.

Thank you very much, it is very helpful. Interesting, would not believe DX240 have higher detail and clarity.

1. What about darkness of background (noise level on sensitive IEMs), separation and layering?
2. Which one do you like more? Which one is the better purchase in your opinion?

- Darkness of background : I only listen it with an Headphone, so cannot compare with IEM's
- Separation and layering : The DX 240 is better
- Now by using it with my ZMF VC, I prefer the M8, less fatigue, less agressiv, more relax, but I plan order the Amp8 MK2 and expect to obtain a nicer sound with the iBasso, but with my Kennerton JM Edition the DX 240 is better.
- For my opinion the best purchase is the DX 240, the price value is above the M8.
- The main sound signature différences are the Dynamic and Clarity, higher in the DX 240 (with an Amp8).

The amp8mk2 Is much better with the DX240 in my opinion I did not care for the regular AMP8 with the DX240.

Just received my Mk2 today. Too early to give a complete impression, but compared to the Amp1 MK3, the Amp8 Mk2 is much better. But I will save the whole impression for later.

Can anyone confirm the Amp8 MK2 is the warmest Amp for the DX 240 as even with the Amp8 used I found it still agressiv and bright.

I'm using it right now and find that it is punchy and tight, and the bass is sweet and smooth. I do not find it aggressive or bright at all.
