It would be interesting to compare them with JVC FW10K and Dita Dream :)

It is my privilege to have acquired a 17th Anniversary package which is my fourth Dunu in-ear monitor, the Titan 1, DK-2001 DK-3001 Pro and now the 17th Anniversary.
Although I am still exploring the capabilities of of this fine instrument, it has so far met my personal preferences in every way. Can this prove to be my end-game IEM? We will see!

Would love to hear how the 17th compares with the new ZEN, which IIUC, originally started from the 17th.

Our opinion would be a little... biased, though. We could lend the ZEN to a 17th Anniversary model owner though. Any takers?

My initial comparisons can't yet be cast in stone as the Zen has only a few hours play time whereas my 17th Anniv. has several hundred. I can for now only speak in generalities as there will likely be no definitive winner, with the choice between the two ultimately being determined by personal preferences.

I can state that the slightly larger Zen fits my ears a little more securely than the 17th. and I can fit a greater variety of tips with good sealing. That said, I am using the Xelastic (L) tips on both. I personally prefer the more supple and lighter Chord cable of the 17th to the stock Zen cable. The Zen is also more efficient which might prove to be an advantage to those using lower powered sources.

I can state that upon first listen the Zen sounds big and bold when compared to the more delicate renderings of the 17th. They do get
closer once both are volume matched but still have noticeable differences in tonal emphasis and sound-staging.

I do believe that one's preferences of genre would ultimately be a significant factor in deciding would make the better choice if you could only own one or the other.

More comparisons on SQ, tonality, soundstaging etc. will be forthcoming. Stay tuned!
