As of late I've noticed that my DT880 Pro (250ohm) are having issues with bass response. It sounds as though they are unable to handle certain low notes and I get this nasty vibrating/buzzing as if the diaphragm is going to give. It's cringeworthy. I've read things like this could be caused by a hair on the diaphragm? Or is this sounding like a more serious issue?

I have this problem with my dt990s, only at certain frequencies. What amp do you use?

I'm using the ibasso d4

yes most likely a hair on the driver.  you could try removing the earpad then the black fabric layer, and see if you can't find any hairs on the white fabric covering the diaphgragm.

Is this a fairly safe operation(paranoid)? If so I'll give it a shot and post back with any findings
