So I am really looking at buying some DT880s...I saw these on Amazon.com for ~$220, which is the lowest I've seen. Are these the ones I want?

Next question is, which amp should I get? Keep in mind I have no use for portability, as these will never (or at least VERY rarely) go outside of my house. Will some kind of receiver (e.g. Pioneer SX1250, some kind of Onkyo, Denon, etc) drive them, or do I need an amp specifically for headphones? If I can use a normal stereo receiver, what should I look for in it? Specific amperage, impedance, etc?
How do these sound unamped compared to HD595s?

I have the 250 ohm DT990s and love it with my Meier Opera.  You could look at any Meier amp, from the least expensive to the Concert, as I find they have great synergy.  I also liked the XP-7 with the Beyers when I had it.
