I haven't heard the 250, but I think the universal impression is that the 770-80 is a cleaner better sounding headphone all around.

ditto Mercuttio...........and it's why 770/80 is the version chosen for modding into Darth Beyers. To usurp your next likely question re 32ohm - almost nonexistant in the USA - you are not likely to get a response based on actual listening experiences.

Yeah, I'm really wondering when the market here's going to have more of those around. I keep hearing that the DT770-80 is no longer in production, or some such thing... but I can't find any confirmation. Then you've got the whispers that the 32 ohm variety is indeed better with a nicer midrange... but not enough information to really come to a conclusion!

yeah.

i really want a pair...i just hesitate on the dt770/80 because i like the new silver look of the redesigned 06 beyers (which is only available in 250 or 32 ohm).

I have ordered some dt770 pro/80 ohm through the Beyerdynamic distributor here in South Africa. The rep said they were available from Beyer, but he had to order them for me. They should be here in a week or two so ill report back when/if i get them.

The 770/80 still seems to be widely available through music stores and pro audio suppliers. As for the 32 ohm version, I don't know your listening tastes, but unless you're using them to study, say, the language of blue whales, I doubt you'd ever want MORE bass than these cans provide.
