Can anyone directly compare the bass in the 80 vs the 32 edition of these phones? Mainly without an amp. I tried the 80 and the bass just wasn't there for me. Mind you the 80's had velour pads and most 32's have pleather.

I find it very hard to believe the Bass of the 80ohm wasn't there. Did you amp them correctly? Amped they have even with the Fiio E5 they have one of the biggest, exciting bass responses in any headphone I've had. if you didn't have the amp then the DT770 32 edition will be the better option but the leather pads suck; go velour.

Edit: The 32 sound similar to the 80 I noticed the 80's had a tad more fuller sound this could be because of the pads or the fact they are designed for portable players.

I'm not surprised you have no Bass, Buy a extremely cheap Fiio E5 and enjoy the Bass.
