I was watching a pair of DT 880s on ebay from seller 'bd-usa' and then all of the sudden they were relisted as 'buyitnow' at 129$. Seems like an awesome deal. They had one left after I checked out.

The paypal payment is to "veronica@beyerdynamic-usa.com" so I assume they are direct from beyerdynamic.

Quick go get them!

They also had a DT 990 Pro, which I was able to snag.

I got a pair of DT880's earlier in the week from this seller. I ended up paying $195 w/shipping. I noticed afterwards that they had several more Beyer products up for sale.

How do I tell which model year I got? Is it printed on the phones somewhere?

Okay, so maybe you all can explain to me the difference. I've heard people reference DT880 and saying there is a difference between the currently available 880pro and the 880, 250ohm, maybe made in 2005, and there are some made in 2003 that I guess are yet different. What is the difference between all these anyway? Thanks - J

what's the ebay username?

You mean of the seller? It was bd-usa. They have a really low rating, but I got my phones very quickly and they were/are in perfect condition.

Here is the auction page for the ones I won:
beyerdynamic DT 880 HiFi-headphones, 250 OHM B STOCK

The seller described B Stock as meaning:

Quote:

The reason it is B stock is because it was used for a show or evaluation otherwise in new condition in appearance and sound.

the 2005 version has rounded cups. on the 2003 version, the cups are flat.

Yeah that's an amazing deal. I've been talking with the guy about buying some but you jerks beat me to the BIN page!

Oh well, I just ordered a pair of the 2005 DT880s for $250, but I probably would have gotten the '03s at that low price.
