DRE BEATS KING OF BASS - SONY XB700 NOT GOOD !
Aug 12, 2012 at 12:51 PM Post #16 of 35
Not everyone with a dissenting opinion is a troll...

Anyway, since the D2000 is over your budget, and if you can return the XB700, get http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-80-closed-studio-headphones and http://www.digizoid.com/zo/ (or just the ZO, that's okay too)

And, uh, rap is perfectly good without boomy bass. I kind of want to hear what some rappers are saying. But the XB700 does have much better sub bass. You asked what has great deep bass, and we gave it to you. It seems like you want mid and upper bass.

lol, this thread is funny.

It's like a 9 year old talking about how he knows what sex feels like.

Beats sounds like a ford escort with the muffler cut off
XB700 sounds like a tuned after market exhaust system

XB700's bass is more of a rumble bass... it is soft punching not a lot of impact. I understand that you felt that XB700 is inferior. Try XB500 or Audio Technica Pro700mkII, I dont understand why the pro700mkII was overlooked in your previous thread. I can't Imagine a headphone can be bassier than Pro700mkII.

cheers,

P.S. I dont mind the colorful letters.. since you have a good personality and not just some crazy troll lol. Keep searching bro.. and stay off beats headphones, they are way too damn expensive for the sound.

You're a poet, and you didn't even know it, or did you? lol. thanks bro.. bless you and your family too

btw, this is a couple of reviews on the pro700mkII:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/553735/audio-technica-ath-pro700mk2-review-take-two-subwoofers-straight-to-the-head
http://www.headfonia.com/bass-to-the-power-of-two-pro700-mk2/

remember though, opinions on sound from may varies.. personally I regretted selling them, cause I cant find bassier headphone. but it doesnt mean it will suits you,  better audition it yourself..
. I've tried, XB700, DT770/80, SRH750dj, M50 none comes close to the amount of bass from pro700mkII.
cheers.

Don't know why you are defending the beats too much. I know you want a lot of bass, but I think A LOT of other headphones are better in almost every way than beats. I feel like you believe the hype too much

Just my 2cents

You should just get an Audio Technica ATH-PRO700MK2 + digiZoid ZO2.3 amp or the Sony XB500 headphone instead of PRO700MK2 depending on your budget and you'll have the strongest possible bass output with headphones that still sounds clean. With the digiZoid amp which has 32-lvl adjustable bass boost you'll get such a bass output with these headphones it'll tickle your ears/skin and you'll feel that bass pressure. I even do so with my M-Audio Q40 which isn't as bassy using the digiZoid amp.

Not sure if serious or just trying to troll... The way you use different colours etc prolly means the latter.

That being said, why would you prefer overbearing bass to vocals and the instruments etc?

if you have to ask, then you dont get it man :frowning2:

lol no but seriously if the artist isn't what i look at as a lyricist (like 90 percent of the rap out today especially from the south) then i couldnt care less about the words because you pretty much have nothing to say, so i just go with the energy of the music, i want the bass drowning out everything, lol i wanna jump up and down in my chair and throw elbows at people in an imaginary mosh pit i just created in my mind

That's the spirit! lol Different strokes for different folks. When I listen to hardstyle the most important thing is that the tracks put me in a headnodding and fistpumping action, then I know it's good.

oh and if you're going to get the ath pro700mk2's then get the black beyerdynamic gel pads for them, the comfort and isolation jump up by a thousand and preserves almost all of the bass and increases sub bass significantly, i can feel it run down the back of my neck when it rumbles, you also gain a big soundstage which is a plus to me, so basically win win win! i'll post some pics later

im pretty sure you already have the pro700mk2's so here you, from one rpg loving basshead to another, i present to you...

lol if you doubt my rpg loving ways just look to the case to the right, my ps1 rpg collection!!!!

not but seriously back on topic, get beyerdynamic black gel pads asap, lol they're ridiculously comfortable and increase sub bass, im currently in the process of trying to add even more clamping force by twisting them inwardly :)

Actually the Beats Dr Dre headphone is not that bad.
If you like the unique Beats' bass and ok with the premium price, then you may want to try out Beats Pro which I feel it has a tighter, deeper and punchy bass than Studio or Solo. It sounds better (improve mids and high, sounds stage, separation)if you play with an good amp.

I'd try an XB500 instead, XB700 have softer impact but slightly more bass than Beats but XB500 slams harder and have more quantity than Beats too. You're obviously looking for midbass slam like Beats focuses on.

XB700 definitely has more deep bass though than Beats, I'd go back and learn to distinguish the different frequencies in bass and how they sound like before start bashing something you have no idea about. Beats bass isn't overly deep sounding, it's midbass focused which has more impact, subbass is deep, slow but softer, doesn't "slam" you as well as midbass.

+10000.
