does player affect souind quality of headphone?

i've a sennehiser rs 130 in my house & i've 2 players.. one is apple nano and the other is a sony micro hi-fi. so i wonder which player will let my rs 130 produce better sound??

Your headphones can only give as goods as what is going in...

Alongside source there are quality of recording considerations as well

To get the best sound from the Nano you have to play lossless files and should use a LOD instead of the headphone port.

Certain cans need more power than what your Nano or Sony can provide to drive them to sound at their best. Hence the reason why an amplifier is recommended in addition to your current two sources. You would connect your music source to your amp then your headphone to your amp.

LOD stands for Line Out Dock which is a cable that will allow you to connect your ipod to an amp.
