I have HD5770 graphics card connected to Pioneer VSX-21TXH receiver via hdmi. I only use this setup for listening to music in home. I don't use headphones at home. Does a sound card make any difference in this setup?
 
My receiver has Wolfson WM8728 192 kHz / 24-bit DAC

Well, you're using digital audio output to the receiver, you aren't using a sound card at all.  I wouldn't bother much personally.

No, nothing will change in sound by changing anything in the digital signal path in anything digital.  Some will say it will but they're wrong.

Uhm... what?  Reclocking, bit-depth changes, digital volume control and a host of other EQ or filters will all change the signal in the digital domain.

Changing the signal path will not alter the results of a digital signal.  It either decodes or it doesn't.  I'm talking about wires of course.  You can spend gobs of money into this and not have better sound.  It's a good DAC in the receiver.
