Has anyone ever seen/heard/smelled a 600 ohm Darth Beyer?

I've looked around and I can find the 80 and a couple 32s.

Edit: OK...BushGuy set me straight...How about 600 ohm Luke Skybeyers? AND any comparisons to 600 ohm DBs?

afaik the 600ohm dt770 is only available through the Manufacture program. Just like the leather pads.

For about $100 you might be able to order a pair of 600ohm dt770 drivers from beyer usa, or maybe not.

I probably should have stated all the assumptions. I understand that 600 ohm Beyers must come from Beyer's Manufacture. BUT...once purchased, one could send in their own cans to be "Darthed." I'm curious if anyone has done this with DT770/600s.

A totally undesirable choice. I only know if being done once - and that owner (Jahn) asked Larry to also modify the ohm requirement downwards. If you notice, the higher the ohm rating goes for dt770 - the more the bass overwhelms the rest of the sonic spectrum.........and why the 80 ohm version prevails. Also, think of your amping requirements for producing the deep bass being even more severe than for driving dt990/600.
Sure, today you can also do a 32 ohm version Darth (my preference most of the time), but can only achieve that 2 ways - for "traditional" Darths you would have to collect all the parts and send them to Larry, or buy 32 ohm 2005 dt770 and go the Luke Skybeyer route......my choice has been to send a box of parts and go the "traditional" route - the ONLY pair made thus far. .So, for a first pair of Darths, an 80 ohm pair should be still be considered the ideal starting place.

Thanks BushGuy. I swear I've read Larry's Beyer intro paragraphs a dozen times and I didn't put this together .

I found the thread by Towert7 comparing his DB V2 and Luke Skybeyer. I've seen that most people prefer Beyers in 600 ohm and it's been suggested that the Skybeyer may fall under this too.

It looks like Skylab got his DT770/2005 Headphiled but I can't find the ohms and I can't find if he posted any impressions.

Skylab did have a pair of 2005 dt770/32 which he does not list any longer. I could be wrong, but I think he had them wooded and recabled into Skybeyer. Why don't you PM him about it?
