How many of you listen to your cans in the car or are you like me and prefer the speakers in your car.

I don't listen to them for safety's sake...and in some places it is illegal.

As much as I'd love to, hell no. Using headphones while driving drastically reduces your situational awareness.

If you are driving the car it is indeed illegal to listen to headphones. I've also heard that car speakers are illegal if they can be easily heard 25 feet away from the car. The point is that wearing headphones isolates you, and can endanger you. With good sound isolating headphones, you can't hear sirens or other cars honking at you. If you get into a crash, your headphones could fly off your head and smash into your windshield, shattering it or harming you.

However, if you are a passenger, go right ahead. It's perfectly legal. I prefer car speakers when I'm with other people as it involves everyone and doesn't separate you from what's going on. If it's a bus, or I'm trying to sleep in the passengers seat late at night, I'll use headphones.

I'll be entirely honest. I once got so fed up with my 95 SVX's speakers I put on my TPGs and hid them with a hat.

Or, in summation, how many of you are idiots.

I'm too afraid of failing to pay attention to the road due to uncontrollable headphone induced headbobbing.

If you drive in heavy traffic or on the highway everyday like I do, then that's a huge no. It's illegal and makes really makes you unaware. If you get too "into" your music, that'll distract you and can cause you to drive unsafely too.
