OK, that might be stretching things, but its pretty clear that its very easy to amass a lot of IEMs without taking out a bank loan. I'm tempted by the Atrios, but that's IT - no more - honest injun - cross my heart and hope to die !

I had two top tier IEMS at the same time (Triple Fi10, ER4P) and a mid-fi one (Hifiman RE0),before I realized I had a problem.  Now I just have my customs and a set of JVC Marshmellows.

Not me. I haven't bought any recently and don't plan to. After hearing what some of the mid-range priced options sound like($200-$400), I have no desire to lower my standard. I'm happy with what I have now (ER4P, W3,eQ7).

Um. Yea, I'm what you would call a...

Of the 36 universals I've owned just within the last 4 months alone, I've parted with each one except for the current ones listed in my signature, which I find much too good to part from, though I'm slowly but surely trying to narrow them down further. I'll hopefully be able to narrow down my selection to 2 or 3 universals (tops), once my UM Miracles arrive.

I was trying and buying a lot of IEMs in 2007 and 2008 but since I got my Atrio's, I have only purchased a few IEMs and have always gone back to the Atrio's.

Sensational - you are tempting my credit card from my wallet as I type this !

Like the LCD2, the Miracles certainly seem to have captured people's imaginations. And bank balances.

Actually I don't buy candy all that often..or almost never :)

I used to own a lot of iems but after my most recent custom I don't care what the newest and bigger things in the iem world is. I may get another custom but universals I'm done with and very happy with what I have,.

Yeah, I sometimes wonder if you have a kind of mania with accumulating/offloading IEMs!

For myself, I was never really happy I was getting the best sound possible from an IEM until the Merlins. I don't really care about what else is out there anymore, except maybe curious about the Atrio MG5/MG7.

Wow - I must be the only one who goes through Joker's review, particularly the IEMs in the $100-150 range, and narrows it down to ten or so .....

I'll stick with universals - I'm about an hour's plane ride away from a city which *might* have an audiologist. They certainly don't seem to be short of proctologists.

I buy IEMs out of impulse buying.... and having hard time to part with them... and what I hate more is I love all the sound signature of my current IEMs it feels so wrong to sell them..

i need a shrink....

If (cost of customs) < (accumulated cost of universals) = customs
It should throw a sharp handbrake on your impulse buying, knowing that you are at the top of the tree already.

Hmm, a mental health professional who specialises in folk addicted to the consumption of consumer electronics ? I suspect that have people like that in Japan.

yes. it's all head-fi's fault, too.

in the last year i went up the entire ety tree.

now i'm happily listening to the W4's while waiting on fedex to deliver a pair of UM3X RC. it's really hard not to pick up these westone's when earphonesolutions has their 20% off coupons. >.>

no more! i'm happy where i am with the W4s with the UM3X as a back up. i'll get a pair um56s for these babies, and see how i like the fit before moving onto customs in... several years.
