Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob with all the amp business, do the need an amp if I listen to them through my pc?

Hey. The CAL is a very easy to drive headphone. They do not need an amp. Of course, as with most headphones, an amp might refine the sound a teeny bit, but its unnecessary with the CAL.
I dunno how nice your soundcard is, but maybe a DAC would be more ideal than a straight amp. Something like the Fiio E7 (which is both a dac and amp), is inexpensive and is a noticeable upgrade to stock soundcards.
The CAL sounds fantastic with the E7.
