Do splitters do anything to sound quality?

I noticed the volume got a tad lower when I used a splitter, but sound quality wise I didn't hear a difference.

With two phones working simultaneously, the system's impedance will be lowered. U will be asking the amp to work harder.

One phone working at a time, no effect.

on the other hand - the question could have referred to using splitters to operate two amps from one sound card.

Or as my Engineering professor says, when the question is precised posed, the answer becomes obvious.

Ha! I win. Professor taught me good about extrapolating wo precise info. ORIGINAL ANSWER STANDS.

Less geeky answer: two ppl listening, fun factor more important than SQ, dunn worry about it.

Medium geeky answer: Depends whether your playing device have enuff power to handle the lowered impedance. Will notice more as u up the volume.
