Do I REALLY need an amp?

Ehm, not that the NJM4556 is a boutique part... And not that I'm very informed on sound cards, but it seems all the Creative cards save the very lesser ones have the 4556 used as a headphone/line buffer. I remember seeing it well on a few "Audigy" cards exposed in a shop...

I have a Audigy 2zs, but as far as I know, there are only ports for line out in the back, so would that mean theres no integrated headphone amp?
