I have just got a pair of KOSS DJPRO100 headphones. My current MP3 player is the "Sony Walkman NWZ-A845".
The sound coming from these headphones when connected to this music source just does not sound right! It really sounds weird.
I know the Sony headphones that the player came with have a 4 section jack compared to the KOSS' 3 section. Also, the player has a constant Noise Cancelling option that I cannot seem to turn off, only change modes.

Could anyone tell me if an amp and using a LOD connection would give me a better sound? It just sounds outright weird right now.

(Apologies if this is in the wrong forum)

EDIT: I am also noticing a significant crackle when there is a heavy bass section...these headphones are new, could they be faulty?

Many Thanks
Stylis

Go to the HOME menu, then go to Noise Canceling, then Noise Canceling [On/Off], then choose Off.
