The 250 ohm Beyers and 300 ohm Sennheisers do need an amp to sound their best. I would not recommend entry level schiit any more than chifi though and probably less.

The X3 and AE-7 both have DAC and amps.

That does not mean that the headamp section in the XE and AE-7 are automatically ok for Sennheisers and Beyers.

No useful info from the AE-7. X3, definitely not enough voltage.Heresy, also marginal for quality music out of the DT770 and 6XX.

Bottom line, if you are happy with the sound, do nothing. If you feel you're missing something, don't get entry level schiit gear. Chifi at the same price is a much better value. And also not clear that entry level schiit itself is not chifi...

Schiit stack with the heresy will sound more analytical and lean. Would be better for gaming(competitive) or movies. Replace the heresy with the new normal magni if possibly looking for a warmer sound. A dedicated DAC is always recommended but for gaming and music its kinda a personal preference. If you have a decent onboard audio card already then I would say start with the amp first.
