Do Grado SR80s need head ph amp?

here's where i'm at now...spend $3-400 on a nice portable (mustang, Decware Zenhead, ALO Mini3) or get a $2-250 table top (new trends, etc) and a $100 portable.

Just can't decide of a the nicer portable would sound better than the less expensive table top.
