Hi all,

as the title suggest I am most likely going to be pulling the trigger on the Audeze LCD-2 C headphones. I watched some unboxings and browsed the forums and it seems like all of them started coming with the travel case as standard. However, the retailer in my country (Slovenia, EU) said that they still come in just the standard cardboard box. This seems strange as he said that they have received this shipment in April 2023, but it seems like they started coming with the travel case in 2021 already.

Is this only a US thing? Can anyone confirm how the "EU versions" come packaged? It's not too big of a deal, but if I can get the travel case for free, then I might as well buy them somewhere else.

I bought mine in India in 2021 and it came with hard case. I can confirm it's not just US thing.

Thanks so much for the reply @dsrk ! That's very interesting..

I am not sure whether the retailers open the outer box - I assume they come in an outer cardboard box, right?

Maybe the reason he told me that they only come in the box is because they dont't check or open them and the displayed pair has been there way before. It would sure be strange that the stock they received was from e.g. 2020, since that's quite some time ago...

If anyone has any input on this I'd appreciate it a bunch!

Bought mine from Thomann in germany last year and it came with the hard case, too.

Ah, well that settles it. Maybe they just have old stock @Misunari ! On Thomann they cost 850 EUR and in this store they go for 750 EUR (discounted apparently) - not sure if they can order the "caseless" version for a cheaper price. And before anyone asks, yes, the store is legit haha.

It's not that big of a deal, but the travel case might come in handy as storage..

Yes, I believe so. There was a limited run of the C that were sold at an intro discount that came in a cardboard box.

Keep in mind we did use different cases in the past but have since changed due to availability, supply, etc.

Also, ordering from international dealers (especially from non-major countries), they may not have refreshed their stock as recent as other dealers, so may carry ones with a different case, or no case/in a white box, etc.

Please note that cases are NOT guaranteed. You get what was sold during that production run. Or in the case of buying from our website, you get what is shown on the product page at the time of purchase.

I can confirm what @Audeze and @Misunari said! I too have ordered them from Thomann and received them in the travel case (see photo bellow).

Really impressed by them so far!
