If the consumers demanded it, it'd happen. Most people are still listening to MP3s, and speaker companies know this.It always amazes me how speaker companies will either cheap out on crossover components and gimp the performance of their speaker, or they will include snake oil parts and use it as a license to charge 10K more than what the speaker is worth.
Why is it so hard for speaker companies to include just simple film caps and decent quality inductors.
Even among so called Audiophile circles the push back you get against cables, film capacitors etc is borderline insane, at the end of the day these manufacturers will do the least amount of work they have to do to get their products off the shelf. Greed to the point of self sabotage.
