Is it me or is there huge disparity between talent :: concert ticket prices for many artists currently touring?

I recently purchased tickets for an upcoming concert of No Doubt, Garbage, & the Distillers on one bill for only $35 each. Not bad for at least three acts, two of which are favorites of mine, especially considering todays prices, right?

OK, now a quick parusal of todays newpaper shows prices for some other shows for the next few months:

Michael Bolton (solo billing) = $110
Pink (solo billing) = $66

These last two are examples for the same venue - admittedly a smaller local casino which seats only several thousand rather than a larger stadium - but sheesh! LeeAnne Womak is listed at the same venue for only $35. Is there any justification for paying over two c-notes to take a date to a concert with Mr. Bolton? There may be a few acts for which I would shell this kind of cash, but he is not one of them (at any price). And, I like Pink, considering her to have some real 'pipes'. But with only one CD out, what is she going to do for my sixty-six bucks after 45 mins?

Anyone else see an injustice here or with other concerts in your areas?

Darn it, I wish Garbage would tour over here sometimes, I'd really like to see one of their shows!

BTW, Pink has two albums out, not just one.

Yeah, I have been lucky with these two groups this year. Both 'No doubt' & 'Garbage' performed two separate concerts at Roseland in NY within one week of each other, just a few months ago. Roseland is an old dance hall and is quite small for holding a concert compared to more typical stadium-type venues. Very cool though, very up-close and personal. Now they are touring on the same bill this fall! I'm sure that the upcoming concert in New Jersey will not have the feel of these previous concerts. It will be interesting. No doubt that Shirley will still rock though (no pun intended).
