A post I recently made in the Monster Turbine Challenge - Reviewers Wanted! thread seems to have disappeared, along with two others that had quoted it. No notice has been given to indicate what might have happened to the post, by PM or otherwise, it has simply disappeared. I'm going to go ahead and re-post to see if I can reproduce the bug. Here is the text of the post for reference, as well as a screenshot:

Monster Cable? No thanks. I wouldn't even sell these to some poor sap.

Regardless of one's opinion on their ludicrous markups and dishonest pricing, how can anyone in good faith support a company who consistently engages in such frivolous legal intimidation and predatory sales practices? Shame on Monster Cable, and shame on Head-Fi for consorting with these charlatans.

That's because Your knocking a company that is asking this site to do Honest review's with these give away's. By allowing this might comprimise future promo's and advertising opportunitie's this site might have.

RuthlessVermin, I recommend you give the Turbine Pro Copper a try for yourself.  And before you assume it is crap, compare it to other top-tier universal IEMs.

That's a very valid point. I probably could have refrained from editorializing, but thought it less spammy than just dumping some links.

I'm sure they are lovely headphones, that's not my issue with Monster. Monsanto probably engineers some very nice seeds: Were I in the market for seeds, I would take the actions of the company behind it into consideration before purchasing or reviewing their product. That's all I intended with the post, for potential reviewers to be aware of the BS their potentially positive reviews might help to fund.

I saw a post yesterday where someone was mentioning a problem with ALO's customer service.  The thread was called something like "ALO two terrible experiences" and you can search for it on google and it shows the link:

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/548113/two-terrible-customer-service-experiences-i-had-with-alo/15

but it seems to have been removed from Head-Fi, with a message now saying unable to load thread.  It seemed like the customer was just citing his experiences with the company and not blatantly slandering them, so I'm not sure why it was removed.  If the person was lying then it should have been called out, clarified and left up for a few days even if the thread was locked so that it doesn't appear like Head-Fi is playing favoritism to it's sponsors.  I believe this thread was in the main cable forum and not in the sponsor's forum.  If it was in the sponsor's forum, the sponsor can delete it if he/she chooses but that only makes it look suspicious instead of addressing the issue presented.

Hopefully a mod or administrator can clarify why this was done.  Thank you.

Once again, that was in a paid forum.  There's a vendor feedback area for that.

Ruthless Vermin: Sorry that you weren't informed about the post deletion. I'm going to reply to you publicly here, as this issue comes up on a regular basis in the sponsor advertising threads and there is quite a bit of misunderstanding about this.

While you are free to post your thoughts on Monster in your own thread about in the forums, just as you wouldn't post such comments in, say, an appreciation thread, we think it's unreasonable for people to do so in the sponsored threads either. Again, we're not saying in the least that you can't post your opinion on companies, including sponsors (as long as the comments aren't libellous), just do so in your own thread or an appropriate thread for it.  Thread-crapping posts, that is, posts that are (usually intentionally) made that destroy the purpose of the thread are considered deletion material and the poster is usually politely asked not to make such posts again.

Often, however, we do moderation from our iPhones or the like, and posting a message can be a bit troublesome, so it could be that the person who deleted the posts was going to wait until they returned to their home or office to notify you.

As a moderator, I can still see it where it was.  I would guess that you picked it up from the "new posts" view or some similar filtered universal view option.

Ok, thank you.  I guess I was mistaken, I just thought it was in the main cable forum since I rarely ever look in the sponsor forums.

At least You realized You used bad judgement and were accountable for Your action, not many do. You have learned the error of Your way's Young GrassHopper!
