i'm going to buy my first headphone amp to use with my t50rp. since i watch a lot of movies and concerts on direct tv i'm wondering if i any amp will help make the quality of the sound better or just make it louder?

What are you currently plugging your headphones in to?

thanks for the reply jay. i'm currently plugging into denon 1613 receiver. i have ordered a fiio e11, but it hasn't arrived yet.

The Denon will probably drive it better than the FiiO.  I use my Fostex's with my Yamaha receiver to good results.
