Dilema , are the Denon 7000s worth it ?

D7000 lets me enjoy my music easily, without bothering too much about detail, although they're quite detailed already lol. Besides the deep, hard hitting bass, i'm impressed with the treble that is very extended yet very smooth. The whole presentation it offers makes my music sound "complete", if that makes any sense.

I own AH-D7000 and consider them to be a wonderful headphone. I love my AKG K701 but I wanted something far from them for some fun listening. So I got myself AH-D7000. I earlier owned Denon AH-D1000 and I considered them to be fun headphones so I jumped in. I did not try 2000 or 5000 as I had my eyes set on just 7000. I do not like Mods, no matter how much they improve the sound. I like to listen to the stock and hence I went with D7000 as I heard they do not need tampering to sound good.

I see the HD600 and HD650 love here but those cans sounded cramped to me and I feel that Grado's are a little too bright for me. So I chose K701 at that time. I see the hate for K701's which I love lots. What I am getting at is each headphone is a personal choice and you be better off to listen to them and then decide. If you ask me, I'd say get them as they are fun and pretty detailed too.

I got the D5000...just wasn't ready to shell out 1000$ for the D7000.
I don't regret..the D5000 is really amazing, but I will always wonder about the improvement of the 7000 over it. i hope to hear it one day...than I will be able to tell you if it worth the extra cash

Honestly, the few times I heard stock D5000s at my local shop that were properly burnt in, I didn't find that the bass was that overwhelming at all, I actually quite liked it. I personally won't be modding mine (which should be here in a few days

I just ordered a pair of LA7000s in Kalantus Cedar.
Mark says that the Cedar is a soft and light wood, so tone is liquid, slightly rich and smooth, but with full bass oomph and impact.

Can’t wait to get them!

To me, more so. But they do not share that same timbre and are not quite as lightening quick as the RS1s. I am sure some will disagree with me because of that. However, the D7000s do have a boosted, very full and textured but controlled bass response with slightly exaggerated decay that really adds to a 'full' speaker-like sound. They have amazing clarity and great detail retrieval and are smooth and non-fatiguing without that piercing Grado high that can come through with the RS1s. Some do complain about sibilance with the D7000s but it is not an issue for me. The general suggestion is not to match them with tubes, but I like to add a little more color which my Leben does nicely.

CherryBomb, the D7000 are way more comfortable that the HD650 specially if you invest $70 or so in the JMoney ear pads. I highly recommend this pads for comfort and sound.

The D7000's are by far the best IMO. I listen to all kinds of music and they don't disappoint with anything. It's the only pair of headphones I will never sell. I had HD650's and sold them within a few weeks.

I think D7k's biggest competitor in terms of sound quality is the JVC HP DX1000!!!

many believes DX1000 has a better sound stage and bass than D7k.

Less people own Dx1000 because it costs more and its somewhat rare. Dx1000 is made in Japan, and D7k is made in China, so its cheaper.

I have a pair of DX1000 coming soon, will make a compare between the two ^ ^

I personally think D7k somehow forges the DX1000s packaging though, but in a even more luxury way lol~

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Dx1000s vs. the D7000s.

Cheers!
