I am looking for a high quality digital voice recorder. I will be using it for class so something that is small, compact, and light is a must.

I checked out some of the ones from olympus but I want to see if anyone on here has owned or currently has one they recommend.

things i am looking for: good sound quality, long battery life, large storage, and relatively inexpensive (<$200ish)

Olympus DS-20 and WS-320M have been good for recording seminars and meetings:
- good voice quality
- 8-10hrs battery life
- built-in stereo microphones
- WMA format
- USB download to computer

Upgraded models are the DS-40 and WS-331M:
DS-40 has less recording capacity but also more features, better ergonomics, and a more solid build. WS-331M has a convenient integrated USB connector.

Olympus DS-40 $155, 512MB (17.3hrs stereo recording)
4.4 x 1.5 x 0.6" 2.8oz, uses 2xAAA

Olympus WS-331M, $145, 2GB (71.0hrs stereo recording)
3.7 x 1.5 x 0.4" 1.6oz, uses 1xAAA
http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-WAS-33...690436&sr=1-14

P.S. These little recorders can easily fall out of shirt pockets. Invest $10-20 in a case .
