Can't help you with the specs, but I can see the DAC IC is different, don't know this chip enough to say if it's better of worse.
The strange part is they call it an amp but there are no specs on the amplification part.
The AlienDAC by itself can not drive headphones and needs a separate amplifier.

Is this true ? I thought all the PCM27xx series had analogue outs that would drive 'phones.

At least, my TPA USB board using PCM2707 could drive 'phones ok.

It is true. The PCM2702 is the first usb audio receiver designed by TI and its DAC section is based (iirc) on the PCM1716. The datasheet hints to a 5k or larger load.

The PCM2707 is a newer design and has a dedicated headphones amp section.

I assumed they had very similar analogue output stages.
