Hello All,
I am a first-time user of head-fi and very interested in the world of hi-fi listening, I know very little in this area, but I am open to suggestions and advice. Recently (cyber monday) I purchased a pair of AKG k702s from Amazon coupled with the FiiO E11 amp. After doing some digging, I realized that my purchases were probably not suited for each other. I was hoping to use the AKG's as a daily, wear around campus headphone. Apparently the amp I purchased is not powerful enough to drive these headphones and will make them severly underpowered. Is this true? Will my headphones really not sound good at all? Or is this just snobby audiophile jargon? I have been previously using un-amplified bose quietcomfort 3's with my iPhone 5. I also had to purchase the FiiO L-Adapter and another 8-pin to 30-pin adapter to make the setup work. Is my purchase good for nothing? Will I have to buy a different amp to use with my AKG's?
Sorry for the lengthy post, but I am very concered about my decision. Cheers!
