Says one guy. A few pages back someone said they might sell their LCD5 to keep the DTC. Different strokes...

I'll have both sude by side as well so ill make sure to give input as well once my set arrives. Tbh I expect to prefer the dtc overall but vocals have never been a massive string suit of any abyss imo. Excited to see how my expectations live up

Yes it's all subjective and about taste and what kind of music we hear too. I mostly listen to j-pop and my collection is 90% famele vocals. So LCD-5 had it easier I guess.

And I agree on the gear/chain part big time. In fact I had Susvara TWICE! First time I had it was mad about it being 6k and didn't sound good imo. Today it's my favorite headphone and the ultimate reference.

When final tuning the Diana TC and trying it on all the gear we have in-house I preferred class A solid state amps, just seems to bring out the best in her. Tonality of DTC is similar to the 1266, acoustics are the biggest difference between the two, the AB1266 having that infinite speaker like depth to the soundstage.

The WA33 was not the best mate for Diana TC, while with the AB1266 Phi TC this amp is great.
I should add that I have not yet tried tuning the WA33 for Diana TC with different tubes, it's tuned for AB1266 TC.

@Shini44 you may want to try a different cable. I don't think an aftermarket silver litz is a good idea with Diana TC. It may work well with headphones having a slightly softer top end, not here. Of course it's difficult to tell what you're really hearing from your system. PM me if you want to discuss.

you guys got to try high end setups, seriously LCD-5 and Susvara scales up VERY high. Diana TC Hit its limit way faster.

I might add, the listing is for a V1 with the V2 pads. It was bought 9 months ago new so it has 15 months warranty.

Thanks for your feedback though, so it is quite a different headphone then.

New revised pads (which you got) and the revised band as well. Drivers are the same as far as I know.

All good things go by three. This particular evening the three are Barcelo Imperial Onyx, Sony TA-ZH1ES and Diana V2.

The Diana V2 is just the perfect headphone for me. Striking that perfect balance between detail and sense of ease.

Well, Im willing to sell off my Diana V2 eventually for a pair of TCs.
I’ve been trimming the fat off my set up and if I sell off my V2 I can easily cop a new pair of TC.

Now, my only thing is the alleged Chi-fi DACs sound “lean”.

My only experiences are with iFi DACs (not the Pro line) and my Matrix Element M which is an ESS 9028.

My Diana V2 don’t sound super bass heavy to me despite having its ‘matching’ amp (I understand Diana isn’t a bass cannon nor do I want that). I was told it’s my DAC so now I’m wondering if jumping over to TC would let me underwhelmed due to my DAC?

I’m more on the “objective” side of DACs but I also understand you get what you pay for (most of the time).

Should I stick to V2 and wait for future iterations of TC?

No, the benefits in terms of transparency and resolution are worth it (I'm assuming based off my experience with Abyss headphones.)

Any shortcomings in terms of leanness from your source equipment can be mitigated by a small boost in the low end with EQ. You can also change your source gear at a later date if you feel it needs it, once your wallet has recovered.

Anyone have recommendations for a DAC with the Broadway?

Your dac is fine. Of course later you can always upgrade it as well.

Speaking of chi-fi dac, or even chi-fi set up, actually I like how topping d90se + singxe sa-1 drive diana phi.
