Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!

Hi Everyone - I have a somewhat silly question, I'm an audiophile noob. I got my Diana Phis with a 4.4 balanced cable/connector. I wanted to plug it into an unbalanced 1/4" female out of an amp I have lying around - I have a 4.4mm to 1/4" converter - If I use that and plug in my Diana's 4.4mm to a 1/4" source using the convertor is there any risk of damaging my headphones?
Said another way, is it safe to convert my balanced 4.4 headphone plug to an unbalanced 1/4" plug using an adapter so I can plug it into an amp that outputs via standard 3.5mm / 1/4" ?

Absolutely no problem whatsoever, I also use one occasionally... (it's the other way around which could prove to be an issue for some bal. output sources however)

Thank you. I think this is what I read on various other threads too - That going from a balanced headphone cable to a single ended output on an amp is OK but going from a single ended headphone cable to a balanced output source is a big NO-NO.

How's the wind sound?

At my last cruise trip (end of 2019), only iem able to become my companion when chilling on top deck
It works like magic. This amp has power to where I was able to listen to my music on the Lido Deck where they had music playing and I was in my own little world. Even using the V2s.

Office day with the “new to me” Diana Phi. The details in these bad boys are some of the best I’ve ever heard. Thoroughly enjoying this work day!

Shanling M8 on Turbo gain is satisfying. Looking forward to playing with some larger gear at home.
I do wish they back to use red stitch for Phi, looks smoking hot. Nice photo btw!

Me too. I see you're in photography, so I'll just tell you I'm crazy impressed with the iPhone 13 Pro's image-taking capabilities. Normally, I'd throw my 90mm tilt/shift on a large aperture for a product shot like this. When the phone can mimic a 600mm f4, the Canons will get really dusty.

Back to audio...

Didn't get a chance to throw the Phi's on the big boy gear last night, but am trying the Xduoo XD05 Plus today at work. Definitely can get louder, but doesn't sound as detailed as the Shanling M8.

as one who used to own a large number of white canon lenses I can say that the photo ability of the iphone 13 is incredible
